The Iglesia ni Cristo rapid global expansion

The Iglesia ni Cristo
rapid global expansion

AS FORETOLD IN the propheicies of God written in the Holy Scriptures, the Church  of Christ that reemerged in the Philippines in the Far East in 1914, would reach the Far West and spread in different nations worldwide. The fulfillment of these prophecies began with the establishment of  the first locale outside the Philippines.
TRANSCENDING    PHILIPPINE shores, the   Iglesia   ni   Cristo  launched its mission overseas in 1968 coinciding with its 54th year of   establishment.    Brother  Erano G. Manalo, barely five  years  at  the helm as Executive Minister of the Church, set out to foreign land on a  missionary journey that resulted in the establishment of two pioneering congregations in the Far West—first in Honolulu,Hawaii on July 27 and then in  San Francisco, California, on August 18, 1968.

The Iglesia ni Cristo as biblical prophecies attest

The Iglesia ni Cristo as biblical prophecies attest

Members of the Church of Christ maintain that the testimonies in the Bible attesting that the Church where they belong is truly of God and that they are indeed the ones He has set apart for Himself to serve and worship Him in these last days are firm and strong. As historical accounts in the Bible show, it has been God's policy since the beginning to set apart people whom He gives the exclusive privilege of being His servants. Every time a chosen generation of people would turn away from God, He chooses and sets apart a new group of people in place of the old. Thus, when the first-century Church of Christ fell into apostasy after the death of the apostles, God set apart another group of people to become His chosen servants. They are the members of the Church of Christ in these last days, as biblical prophecies attest.

The Church of Christ early years in the Far East
under the stewardship of Brother Felix Y. Manalo

The humble  beginnings
In an early month of 1914, Felix Manalo with his wife, Honorata, left their home in Pasay and headed for Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila and look for his friends Apolinario Ramos and wife Engracia who were
staying in the workers quarters of the construction firm, Atlantic Gulf & Pacific Company. That night, with the permission of the Ramos couple, he conducted his first religious meeting in their room with only a handful of people listening. His impressive knowledge of the Bible, as well as the solid biblical foundation of the message he preached, amazed the listeners.

The Historical and Geographical Proof of Prophecy

The Historical and Geographical Proof of Prophecy

"From the far east will I bring your offspring,
and from the far west I will gather you"

(Isaiah 43:5, James Moffatt Translation)
The members of the Iglesia ni Cristo faithfully believes that they are fulfillment of the above prophecy based on the following Historical and Geographical proofs:

THE GROWING PUBLIC skepticism and ambivalence toward organized religions—and religious preachers in
particular—may be partly due to the embarrassments some of these self-described prophets have caused their
constituents. Take for instance the sexual abuse perpetrated by not a few "men of the cloth”, the bold yet foolish
predictions of some messianic crackpots on the exact date the world would end, and outrageous pronouncements
every now and then of some self-proclaimed prophets, to cite a few.

The gathering of God's children in the Far West

The gathering

of God's children

 in the Far West

It was with a whistle of the tune of  "Ako'y Iglesia ni Cristo " (I am a member of the Church of Christ) that pioneering   brethren of Honolulu Congregation   first  met and  were  brought  together.   Most of  them were  migrant    workers    from Philippines who had sought and found greener pastures in that part of the United States.
