rapid global expansion
AS FORETOLD IN the propheicies of God written in the Holy Scriptures, the Church of Christ that reemerged in the Philippines in the Far East in 1914, would reach the Far West and spread in different nations worldwide. The fulfillment of these prophecies began with the establishment of the first locale outside the Philippines.
TRANSCENDING PHILIPPINE shores, the Iglesia ni Cristo launched its mission overseas in 1968 coinciding with its 54th year of establishment. Brother Erano G. Manalo, barely five years at the helm as Executive Minister of the Church, set out to foreign land on a missionary journey that resulted in the establishment of two pioneering congregations in the Far West—first in Honolulu,Hawaii on July 27 and then in San Francisco, California, on August 18, 1968.
